AWARENESS RAISING ABOUT PREVALENCE AND CONSEQUENCES OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IN SLOVAKIA

Violence against women is a violation of women’s human rights and the whole society needs to take responsibility for preventing and eliminating violence against women. We believe that in order for women in Slovakia and around the world to live a dignified life without violence, we need to achieve zero tolerance of violence in our society. Therefore, it is important to raise people´s awareness about prevalence and impact of violence against women on the lives of women and their children, as well as on the whole society. Women’s Safety Network has defined its strategic goals that we will gradually achieve through our future activities in this area.

AWARENESS RAISING ABOUT THE WORK OF THE NETWORK MEMBERS IN THE FIELD OF COMABATING VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IN SLOVAKIA

Women’s Safety Network member organisations have carried out a wide range of activities in the past 20 years. They range from direct provision of support and help to women and their children, trainings and publications, to advocacy activities and multi-agency cooperation. The long-term goal of our activities is to achieve that women experiencing violence and their children live a life free from violence in a society that does not tolerate violence.
